How to Fix Mediatek Wi-Fi 7 MT7925 Not Working on the Beelink GTR9 Pro
Causes
- Windows 11 24H2 ships a generic Microsoft WLAN driver for the Mediatek MT7925 instead of the Mediatek-specific driver — the generic driver lacks proper 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) support and often shows a Code 10 (device cannot start) or Code 43 (driver failed) error in Device Manager
- Loose or partially seated U.FL antenna cables inside the GTR9 Pro chassis — the two internal PCB antenna connectors (white MAIN and black AUX) can vibrate loose during shipping, causing the OS to detect the Wi-Fi card but report "No networks found" or show signal strength consistently below -85 dBm
- BIOS PCIe ASPM forcing the MT7925 into an unrecoverable D3 power state — the same aggressive ASPM setting that affects the Ethernet NIC can cause the Wi-Fi card to fail PCIe link re-initialization after system sleep or hibernate, making the card disappear entirely from Device Manager until a cold reboot
- Firmware version mismatch between the MT7925 card and certain Wi-Fi 7 router/AP chipsets — the mt7925 firmware shipped on GTR9 Pro units manufactured before June 2026 does not support 320 MHz channel bonding with Qualcomm Networking Pro WiFi 7 platforms, causing the card to connect at Wi-Fi 6 speeds or drop the connection every few minutes when operating on the 6 GHz band
- DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection) radar interference on the 6 GHz band — if the GTR9 Pro is located near an airport, weather radar, or 5G cellular tower, the Wi-Fi 7 radio constantly switches channels due to DFS events, making the connection appear to drop and reconnect repeatedly when using 802.11be 320 MHz channels
How to Fix
- Download the official Mediatek MT7925 Wi-Fi 7 driver package from the Beelink GTR9 Pro support page (not the Microsoft Update Catalog). Run setup.exe as Administrator and select Clean Install if prompted. Reboot the system after installation completes.
- Press Win + X → Device Manager → expand Network adapters. Right-click "Mediatek MT7925 Wi-Fi 7" → Properties → Driver tab. If Roll Back Driver is available, click it to revert to the previous working driver. If the device shows Code 10 or Code 43, right-click → Uninstall device (check "Attempt to remove the driver for this device"), reboot, then install the Mediatek driver from step 1 clean.
- Shut down the GTR9 Pro and unplug the AC power. Remove the four rubber feet on the bottom to access the screws, then remove the bottom panel. Locate the Mediatek MT7925 Wi-Fi card in the M.2 2230 slot near the front-right edge of the motherboard. Gently press down on both U.FL antenna connectors (white for MAIN, black for AUX) until you feel a faint click. Reassemble and boot the system.
- Enter the BIOS by pressing Del during boot. Navigate to Advanced → AMD PBS → PCIe ASPM Support and set it to Force L0s or Disabled. This prevents the Wi-Fi card's PCIe link from entering L1 substates that break re-initialization after sleep. Save with F10 and reboot.
- In Device Manager, right-click the MT7925 → Properties → Advanced tab. Locate 802.11be Mode and set it to Disabled — this forces the card to operate on Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) using the 5 GHz band only. This workaround immediately resolves DFS-related disconnections and MLO compatibility issues while Mediatek and Beelink work on a permanent fix for the 6 GHz band.
- Update your Wi-Fi 7 router's firmware to the latest available version. Many router manufacturers (TP-Link, Asus, Netgear) have released MLO (Multi-Link Operation) compatibility patches specifically addressing Mediatek client adapter behavior on 320 MHz channels. After the router update, re-enable 802.11be Mode in Device Manager and test connection stability.
- If the Wi-Fi card is still not detected after all steps, the MT7925 module itself may be faulty. Contact Beelink support for a replacement M.2 Wi-Fi card. The GTR9 Pro uses a standard M.2 2230 E-key form factor — you can also replace it with an Intel BE200 or Qualcomm QCNCM865 Wi-Fi 7 module as a third-party alternative, though you will need to install the appropriate drivers manually.
