Causes

How to Fix

  1. Wipe away any excess with a lint-free microfiber cloth — excess grease attracts more dust
  2. Deep-clean the hinge joints: spray compressed air (canned duster) into the hinge gap at a 45° angle while simultaneously rotating the earcup through its full range of motion to blow out embedded lint and dust. Follow this by sliding a thin, lint-free cloth (or a lens-cleaning wipe folded over a guitar pick) between the hinge arm and the yoke to wipe the internal surfaces clean
  3. Lubricate the headband slider rails: extend the headband to its maximum length, exposing the stainless steel slider rails on each side.   5. Adopt a proper folding and storage routine: always fold the earcups fully flat (rotated 90° inward) before placing the headphones in the carrying case — this closes the hinge gaps and prevents lint from entering during transit.   6.
