How to Fix HDMI No Signal on the UGREEN Revodok Pro 106

Device: UGREEN Revodok Pro 106 (6-in-1 USB-C Hub) · UGREEN Added

Causes

  • Insufficient power delivery from the host laptop's USB-C port — the Revodok Pro 106 draws power for all connected peripherals, and if the host port cannot supply enough wattage, the HDMI output drops out.
  • Loose or poorly seated USB-C connection between the hub and the laptop — the attached 30cm cable may not be fully inserted, causing intermittent video signal loss.
  • Incorrect input source selected on the external monitor — most monitors remember their last input; if the monitor defaults to DisplayPort or another input, the HDMI from the hub will show as "No Signal."
  • Faulty or incompatible HDMI cable — using an older HDMI 1.4 cable that cannot carry 4K@60Hz, or a damaged cable, will prevent the monitor from detecting the signal.
  • USB-C port on the laptop does not support DisplayPort Alt Mode — some USB-C ports are charge-only or data-only and cannot output video signals through a hub.

How to Fix

  1. First, verify that your laptop's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. Check your laptop's specifications — if the port has a DisplayPort (DP) icon next to it or is listed as "USB-C with DP Alt Mode," video output is supported. Apple MacBooks, most Dell XPS, Lenovo ThinkPad, and Surface devices support this; some budget laptops may not.
  2. Fully disconnect and reconnect the hub's attached USB-C cable from your laptop. Push it in until you feel a firm click — a partial connection can supply power but fail to negotiate the DisplayPort signal.
  3. Connect the UGREEN Revodok Pro 106 to its included or a compatible 100W USB-C PD charger. Plug the charger into the hub's USB-C PD port (marked with a power icon), then connect the hub to your laptop. This ensures the hub has enough power to maintain the HDMI signal. This is the most common fix — the hub needs external power for reliable 4K@60Hz output.
  4. Swap your HDMI cable for a certified "High Speed HDMI" or "Ultra High Speed HDMI" cable rated for 4K@60Hz or higher. Avoid cables longer than 3 meters (10 feet) as signal degradation increases with length.
  5. On your external monitor, press the Input/Source button and cycle through available inputs (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, DisplayPort, USB-C) until the UGREEN Revodok Pro 106 signal appears. Label the active HDMI port for future reference.
  6. If using a Mac, open System Settings > Displays and hold the Option key while clicking "Detect Displays" to force a display re-detection. On Windows 11, go to Settings > System > Display > Multiple displays and click "Detect."
  7. Update your laptop's chipset drivers and USB controller drivers from the manufacturer's website. Outdated USB drivers can fail to negotiate DisplayPort Alt Mode properly. For Windows, also update the Intel or AMD graphics driver.
  8. Test the hub with a different laptop or device (iPad Pro, Android tablet with USB-C) to isolate whether the issue is with the hub or your specific host device. If the HDMI works on another device, the problem lies with your laptop's USB-C implementation.
